THE LODGE offers privacy and easy access on a quiet road in the mountains of southwestern North Carolina, in Bear Paw Resort ⌠surrounded on three sides by Lake Hiwassee and the Great Smoky Mountains. Bear Paw is the only community on this lake, so itâs never crowded. Murphy, NC and Blue Ridge Georgia are 30 minutes away, and itâs an easy 2 hour drive from Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville and Asheville. Itâs centrally located perfect for day trips.

Thereâs three spacious primary suites, one on each level for privacy. Thereâs also three living areas, a great room, loft and game room ... one on each level. Thereâs WiFi, 4 TVâs, porches with rocking chairs, BBQ area amazing lake and mountain views and easy access on paved roads. It includes rustic yet modern furnishings along with a spectacular stacked stone fireplace and one of a kind accessories by local artisans ... which sets this home apart. It never gets old when we hear guests say âWOW, the views are amazing â.
AMENITIES:
BEAR PAW RESORT: Water ski, jet ski, kayak paddle boarding, fish, boat rental, swim, tennis, volleyball, playground, hike & see the wildlife, ITâS ALL HERE! There are no amenity fees except for purchases at the Marina.
HOME
After a busy day on the lake, you can come home to WiFi, HDTVâs, YouTube, Discovery+, home phone, cell phone service (Verizon), games and books. Thereâs also tennis racquets and walking sticks for you to use. This is where you come to relax and unwind and still enjoy all the comforts of home.
WORKING VACATION:
Yes, some of us are working from home and still want a vacation. The Lodge offers WiFi and a home phone for US calls. You can zoom, get your work done, then head out on the lake. Stay for a week or for a month and balance work and a vacation!
MAIN LEVEL:
You can relax in the first primary suite... with spa-like bath and itâs own private porch and a peaceful view of the lake and mountains. The great room, dining area, kitchen and guest bathroom are also on this level. French doors lead out to one of the huge porches, which spans the full length of the house. Thereâs lots of rockers, a gas BBQ area, (propane tank provided). You can also enjoy a romantic dinner and dine alfresco on the porch!
UPPER LEVEL:
The second spacious bedroom overlooks the lake and mountains with a full bathroom. Thereâs also a loft overlooking the great room, with a comfy sitting area and queen sleeper sofa.
TERRACE LEVEL:
The third bedroom with 2 twin beds and bathroom are here, along with the game room, perfect for ping pong, or board games. The game room leads out through french doors to another huge porch, with a swing, a favorite of many of our guests when you want to get away and take a nap. Also, when you need it, the laundry room is available here for your use.
BEDROOM DETAILS: ** 3 PRIMARY SUITES ... One on each level **
Two bedrooms feature plush pillow-top mattresses and the third bedroom offers two high quality twin mattresses, all with organic cotton toppers, along with luxurious linens, fluffy comforters, pillows and TV with YouTube. We also provide a pack and play sleeper, for children not potty trained.
KITCHEN:
This clean well appointed kitchen offers custom oak cabinetry, stone countertops, new stainless appliances and a large island, so pull up a stool. Itâs fully stocked with a 10 cup coffee maker, toaster, crockpot, stainless pots and pans, beautiful dishes, serving pieces and spices. Ready to BBQ? Bring on the steaks, one propane tank provided. Catering or a private chef can be arranged.

Arenât most of us looking for that special place where we can enjoy time together with family? Birthdays, holidays, anniversaries and vacations are when we make memories that are priceless. The Lodge is close to all the Bear Paw amenities ... and is centrally located for day trips listed below. After a busy day thereâs lots of games, books, ping pong etc. for the family to enjoy.
The great room is perfect for families to share stories after a busy day, play charades, watch movies or play board games. Downstairs thereâs a second living area/game room with games and ping pong. Please keep in mind there are stairs, and it may not be suitable for infants.
We all enjoy being together, but sometimes we just need alone time. Upstairs in the loft you can cuddle up with a blanket and a good book. Downstairs on the porch is a comfy swing. This is a favorite of many of our guests. Grab a blanket and take a nap.

Bear Paw Resort is about thirty minutes away from the quaint towns of Murphy, Blue Ridge Georgia and Blairsville Georgia, where you will find Ingles Grocery Stores (comparable to Publix) and Walmart, sorry no food delivery. When it comes to great restaurants 30 - 40 minutes away, thereâs everything from coffee and sandwich shops, casual dining, yummy bbq and ice cream to fine dining.
