QUIET AND PEACEFUL: ShortRidge sits on a 70 Acre Farm with Open Pastures, Woods, and the River Path leading down to the South Fork of the Kentucky River. You will go back in time to "Old Eastern Kentucky Country Living".

DESTINATION VACATION: You will not be the first Guest to just hang around John Parrish House and enjoy the Hot Tub, Gas Fire Pit, Gas Grill, and Fireplace. The Hot Tub, Fire Pit, and Gas Grill are conveniently located on the Covered Patio. The Fireplace is located in the Main Room.
From John Parrish House, or while walking the farm, you may see Deer, Wild Turkey and More!
Walks on ShortRidge and along the Kentucky River are Peaceful. The River Walk from John Parrish House to the far end of the River Bottom Pasture and back to the house is over 2 miles long. For the more adventuresome BobCat, a challenging trail, walks beneath Open Cliffs high above the river.
John Parrish House, with Full Kitchen, Gas Fireplace, Beautiful Cherry Planked Walls, Large Screen TV, and INTERNET is a calming place to spend time.
There is no reason to leave ShortRidge until it's time to return home.

FIREARMS: FireArms are permitted on ShortRidge but NO Hunting or Shooting is Permitted.

OUT BUILDINGS: Do NOT enter any Out Buildings.
ANIMAL FREE ENVIRONMENT: The Majority of Guests Request an Animal Free Environment. To honor them, Animals are NOT permitted on ShortRidge. Guests who violate this rule will be Immediately Evicted Without a Refund and will be Responsible for Payment of an Additional $500 Cleaning Fee.

BED LINEN CLEANLINESS: Before Your Arrival the mattress cover, sheets, blanket, bedspread, pillow covers and cases are Laundered. Because of laundering practicality, only a lightweight blanket is used. We encourage you to maintain a comfortable temperature for sleeping by adjusting the HVAC temperature.
HOT TUB SANITATION: Before Your Arrival the Hot Tub is fully drained and refilled with Fresh Water. Chemicals are then added. Because the last Guests may have checked out the morning of your arrival you should not use the Hot Tub the night of your arrival without checking with us.
The Hot Tub does not cool down. Increase the temperature gradually. It should NOT be used by Young Children nor People with Medical Issues.
