The Space:
Quiet, bright and newly renovated, this 750 sq ft one bedroom apartment can houses 2 people comfortably. It has large energy efficient double-paned windows throughout, a queen size sofa, a workspace with a simple ornate desk and desk chair, a large and deep double door closet in the living room and bedroom, a 2" topper queen bed, two light blue/grey swivel chairs, an original 1950's standard size bathroom with a tub and shower combo, a BRAND NEW kitchen with a gas stove/oven, refrigerator, a built-in microwave over the stove, a dishwasher, a dining room table with 4 chairs, original 1950's parquet wood floors with area rugs, a fireplace, a Sharp 50" Smart TV in the living room, a Toshiba 43" Smart TV in the bedroom, an AC/Heat Unit in the Living Room and Bedroom.
3rd Person/Cleaning Fees:
Due to Covid-19 and Variants and you're bringing a 3rd person with you, there is an extra charge for the third person of $50.00 and an extra charge for the cleaning fee of $50.00. It normally takes two days to clean and disinfect the apartment properly and thoroughly and a 3rd person will add to that timeframe because, there will be more to clean and wash.
Food
There is a Whole Foods, a Trader Joe's, a 7-11, a CVS in Georgetown and a Wine store at the Watergate. All are within a few blocks of each other.
Parking
A car is not necessary in Washington, D.C.. You're two blocks away from public transportation. However, if you have a car I have an outdoor parking space for $12.00 a night. You may also park on the street for free if you have a zone 2 parking sticker. Otherwise, you'll have to move your car every two hours during the week (M-F) between 8 am until 8 pm. You will not have to move your car on the weekends or holidays.
Another option is to park in a parking lot or head over the local Police Station and get a guest parking pass for the length of your stay.
Overview
You are close to Georgetown, to many tourist attractions and to work. You're two blocks from public transportation, 20 minutes from Reagan National Airport and 25 minutes from Amtrak's Union Station by Uber or Lyft. Dullas and BWI are 30 to 40+ minutes away. If you arrive during traffic hours please keep in mind it will take longer to get in and out of the city.
Also, near by are Churches and Synagogues, a variety of restaurants, theaters (Kennedy Center, Warner Theatre, Lisner Auditorium and Arena Stage) and sports arenas. There are great parks all around to sit or hike in. You can kayak or SUP on the Potomac river or choose to bike/hike on the C.& O. Canal in Georgetown or on a variety of other biking/hiking paths in Washington, D.C.. Museums and monuments are close by and Georgetown, The White House and Embassy Row are all within walking distance. George Washington University and G.W.U. Hospital are two blocks away. No matter what you choose to do you can walk, bike, hike, kayak, SUP, scooter, jog, take the subway, bus, Uber, Lyft or drive.
If you have a car and you want to get outside of the city, you can spend the day in Old Town Alexandria, Mount Vernon, VA and see George Washington's Home, go to lunch or dinner and have many of the same a meals that George Washington often enjoyed. Or you can drive to Historic Middleburg, VA and spend the day in the Blue Ridge Mountains, shop in historic towns, go to Virginia wineries or Harper's Ferry.
