Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Very nice condo in Telluride (which itself is a great place). It is not right in the center of Mountain Village but in the Meadows area, so you will need to walk (~20 minutes) or take the super-convenient village shuttle to get to gondola. The place was very nice, clean, nothing to complain about.

Negative: Sadly, the place is managed by Vacasa, which is turning into a red flag for us. 1) Even if you book through booking.com, Vacasa will force you to sign additional paperwork. This is inconvenient and it lowers your rights and protections. 2) They bombard you with email and SMS communications, flooding your inbox with unnecessary or repetitive information and pushing you to download their app. One clear email with all the necessary information is really all it should take. 3) Heaven forbid that you actually need some help from them. Water stopped running in the condo during our stay (kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, everything). We contacted Vacasa support ~10 times over the span of 13 hours, and each time we got either generic advice ("is the handle stuck?") or a comment that they "contacted their local team" without any additional updates or ETA for resolution. We ended up calling their phone support 2x and finally got hold of the local person, who told us that they heard about the issue for the first time about 5 minutes ago, so only after repeated calls to their phone center. None of the previous "contacting of the local team" really happened. We then got it resolved over the next 3-4 hours. Our lesson is to avoid booking properties managed by Vacasa, whenever an alternative exists.
